Research from a price comparison website recently claimed that people resort to using their credit cards on average 21 days after payday – more than a week before next payday. Amazingly one in ten (9 per cent) pull out the plastic less than 15 days after they have been paid, meaning they will be funding the remaining fortnight on their cards.
As many as 35 per cent of all Brits admit to using a credit card to buy everyday items such as food, petrol and clothing each month, often in the hope that they will be able to repay the balance the following month.
